SWEET & SOUR CHICKEN

Soak chicken in Soya sauce marinade, remove chicken, add to flour mixture, fry and add to sauce and simmer. So easy and absolutely delicious. Add this is your next Oriental Party. Serves 6

6 boneless chicken breasts 6
MARINADE
6 tbsp Soya sauce 100 mL
3 tbsp Sugar 50 mL
1 tbsp salt 15 mL
FLOUR MIXTURE
1 cup Flour 250 mL
2 tbsp Corn Starch 25 mL
SAUCE
1-1/2 cups Brown sugar 375 mL
2 tbsp Corn Starch 25 mL
3/4 cup Vinegar 175 mL
2 cups Water 500 mL

MARINADE
In a bowl, combine Soya sauce, sugar and salt. Stir very well. Cut chicken in bite size pieces and add to marinade; stir to coat. Marinate in refrigerator for 1 hours.

FLOUR MIXTURE
Combine flour and corn starch. Remove chicken from marinade, pat on paper towel and add to flour mixture. In a large skillet add oil to coat bottom of pan, fry chicken pieces on medium low heat until golden brown and chicken is cooked. Set aside.

SAUCE
In a large non stick pot combine brown sugar, corn starch, vinegar and water. Bring to boil, then simmer for 5 minutes. Add chicken to sauce and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.


NOTE
Sauce will not thicken until chicken is added. This can be made ahead and freezes well.
