MICROWAVE CHEESE SAUCE |

This easy to make sauce is super on an omelet or drizzled over vegetables. Makes about 2/3 cup [150 mL] |

| 2 tsp | Butter | 10 mL | |
| 2 tsp | Flour | 10 mL | |
| pinch | Each of salt, pepper, dry mustard and garlic powder. | pinch | |
| 1/2 cup | Milk | 125 mL | |
| 1/4 cup | Shredded Cheddar cheese | 50 mL | |

Melt butter in a 2-cup (500 mL) glass measure on High for 20 to 30 seconds. Add flour and a pinch each of salt, pepper, dry mustard and garlic powder. Whisk in milk. Cook on High for about 2 min. or until thickened, stirring carefully 2 or 3 times. Add shredded Cheddar cheese and stir until melted. Serve immediately, or cover surface with plastic wrap and refrigerate. Reheat gently at serving time. |
